HOW DOES POOR CONSTRUCTION CAUSE PROBLEMS?

WHEN IS IT IMPORTANT TO TEST FOR TOXIC MOLD?
| Improperly flashed decks, windows, chimneys, skylights, siding or trim not properly installed including synthetic stucco. Negatve drainage around foundations. |

CAN AIR DUCT SYSTEMS
BECOME CONTAMINATED WITH MOLD?
WHAT CAN I SAVE?
WHAT SHOULD I TOSS?
| Yes. Air duct systems can become contaminated with mold. If your home's air duct system has had water damage, first identify the type of air duct construction that you have. Bare sheet metal systems, or sheet metal with exterior fiberous glass insulation can be cleaned and disinfected. |
Substances that are porous and can trap mold, such as paper, rags, wallboard, and rotten wood should be decontaminated and thrown out. Ultimately it is critical to remove the source of mosture first, before begining remedial action, since mold growth will return shortly if an affected area becomes re-wetted. |

CAN OZONE AIR CLEANERS REMOVE INDOOR MOLD?
WHO COULD BE HELD NEGLIGENT?
| Studies have shown that ozone, even at high concentration, is not effective at killing airborne mold contamination. Health experts, including the Minnesota Department of Health, do not recommend the use of ozone to address mold or any other indoor air problems. |
